Viola Lanari

Viola Lanari gets a kick out of creating new and unusual things. An Italian in London since 2009, her career started as an interior stylist for British House & Garden magazine, and then as production assistant for The World of Interiors. The spontaneous beginnings of her work with plaster were influenced by the experience she gained working on editorial sets surrounded by the best selection of contemporary and modern design and fabrics, and by the education received by the creative people involved.

From her London studio Viola creates all things hand made in plaster of Paris. Table lamps and wall lights, chandeliers, sculpted side tables and carved tables and mirror frames…

To the almost too loud white background now Viola has added colour in the form of hand painted decorative papers, transformed into lampshades and fabrics.

Viola’s creativity is not only expressed in her designs, but also in the originality of putting all things together.
